Welcome to Year 6

Home Learning

All children will be given a reading and library book and will bring them home each night. If you could read with your child at home it would help a great deal with their progress and if you could indicate that you have done so in their reading record this again would be greatly appreciated.

Any homework given will be recorded in their homework diary which you will need to check and sign on a weekly basis. Homework will be given on a Monday and collected in on a Friday.


Topic work/IPC

This half term our topic is “The Blitz”

Year 6 will be having  outdoor PE on Monday and indoor PE on Wednesday. The children will require full outdoor kit on Monday and full kit of yellow t-shirt, blue shorts and pumps on Wednesday in order for them to participate.

YEAR 6 SHOW  Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat

All parts have now been given to the children. All costumes need to be for 10th June.


Hollingworth Lake Trip Friday 7th September 2018.

Science Day @ The Radfclyffe School Tuesday  25th September.

Tuesday 16th October Harvest service in the morning.

Parents meetings with Mrs Hurst on Wednesday 24th October.

Thursday 25th October Year 6 will be taking all the poppies made in school to Chadderton Town Hall.

On Friday 16th November the children need to  bring in anything chocolate for the Christmas Fair and in return they can wear non-uniform.

Non-uniform day, please bring in bottles on Thursday 29th November.

St Luke’s will be singing at Chadderton Town Hall on Friday 30thNovember.

Christmas Fair is on Thursday 6th December.

Year 6 are back Bag Packing on Friday 7th December at around 1.30pm at Asda, Chadderton.

Wednesday 12th December Christmas Lunch.

Wednesday 13th February, St Matthews Church to look at stain glass windows.

March 4th World Book Day.

18th March is Shakespeare week.

Tuesday 26th trip Eureka

29th March is non-uniform day, but please bring in something chocolate for the Easter Bingo Night.

4th April is Bingo Night 6-7.30pm

4th April school finishes at 2pm

Wednesday 24th April is parent meetings

WC. 13th May is SATS week, all children MUST attend during this week.
