Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is government funding provided to schools to help improve the educational outcomes of disadvantaged pupils and to reduce attainment gaps between disadvantaged children and their peers.
Some children face barriers to learning because of their personal circumstances. Pupil Premium funding helps schools provide additional support so that these pupils can achieve well, participate fully in school life and have the same opportunities to succeed as other children.
Schools receive Pupil Premium funding for pupils who:
- are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) or have been eligible at any point in the last six years (Ever 6 FSM);
- are looked after by a local authority;
- have left local authority care through adoption, a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order;
- have a parent serving in the regular armed forces, have served in the armed forces within the last three years, or are in receipt of a service pension.
St Luke's receives Pupil Premium funding for eligible pupils and uses this funding to provide additional educational, pastoral and enrichment support. The funding is carefully targeted to help disadvantaged pupils make strong progress, achieve well and fully engage in school life.
